With one goal in mind, which is to run for a good purpose, Brother Philippines and audio paramount Plantronics pulled together the first ever “Backbeat Run for a Cause 2017.”
Successfully held at the SM Mall of Asia Complex last May 28, 2017, the event gathered a countless number of participants who engaged in 5K, 10K, 16K, and 21K categories, respectively.
Proceeds of the race will be apportioned to the Kythe Foundation, a non-profit, non-stock organization that aims to improve the quality of life of cancer-stricken children.
Showbiz personalities spotted in the event were Showtime mainstay Zeus Collins and fitness buff Eruption ‘Eric’ Tai along with his wife Rona Samson. The dance floor god Zeus was very game in doing a sample of his famous dance moves, while Eruption and Rona shared some personal thoughts on the importance of running.
But the fun event wouldn’t be complete without the raffle draw. Thanks to the generosity of Brother Philippines and Banbros Commercial, the official distributor of Plantronics and other renowned IT gadgets in the Philippines, lucky guests and participants were able to bring home amazing prizes.
The fastest finishers, on the other hand, were awarded the major honors, which included ThiEye action cameras, Plantronics Bluetooth® headphones, and Brother printers among others.
Before the live music and dance party, Brother Philippines President Glenn Hocson and Banbros Commercial President Michael Bangayan gave out some messages of gratitude to the participants for their support on the marathon, as well as for patronizing their brands.
After the exhausting yet fun course, a party was dedicated to the guests and participants, which was taken over by Autotelic, Jensen & the Flips, DJ Patrick Po, DJ Katsy Lee, Hatta Boyz, and LGAC Dance Crew.
Major sponsors were Babyjoy, Curves, F&D, Live Imagination Group Inc., My Runtime, SDigital, ThiEye, SM Mall of Asia, and Zim.
Official media partners were Magic 89.9, Techbeat Ph, When in Manila, Brand Magazine, and your very own PC Buyer’s Guide.
