The Speakers That Don’t Deserve to Be Locked in a Shelf

Upon unboxing, I instantly perceived the kind of bookshelf speaker that the R2000DB, an entry from audio paramount Edifier, is regarded to be.

The Speakers That Don’t Deserve to Be Locked in a Shelf

Appearing in a black matte finish, this speaker system’s design can be equated to that of a high-gloss outlined piano, which exudes elegance and class in an instant.

The R2000DB is obviously composed of two speakers.

There’s the right speaker that is dubbed the active one, which has the built-in amplifier and different ports on its rear panel.

While the left speaker is known as the passive one and this has the speaker in port.

The R2000DB also came with a remote control, a 3.5mm RCA audio connecting cable, a dual RCA to dual RCA audio cable, a speaker connecting cable, a fiber optical audio connecting cable, the common user manual, and a soft cleaning cloth.

With Bluetooth® connectivity, the R2000DB can easily connect to our beloved smartphones. This feature also disregards the usage of wires for a clutter-free appearance. Thank God for this as I hate seeing too much wires and cables!

As my way of examining this bookshelf speaker, I connected my Moto G4 Plus to it and played a couple of songs from Bruno Mars’s 24K Magic album.

The active speaker lighted in green when I connected my phone to it by means of a jack.

On the other hand, the active speaker lighted in blue when I synced my phone to it via Bluetooth®.

As I was engaging in a music marathon, I must say that my listening experience was a blast! I could hear every word as clear as crystal. Thanks to the equipment of some highly advanced 25mm silk dome and so-called “Eagle Eye” tweeters, I was able to perceive every bit of sound as audibly as I wished.

The R2000DB also boasts a versatile dual connection. Courtesy of its dual RCA inputs, users can freely plug in two devices at the same time for a maximized usage.

The presence of a wireless remote control also made it a lot convenient for users and testers like me to control the volume from a distant angle.

There’s also a volume adjustment option on the rear panel of the active speaker, which may be controlled if users wish to enhance or lower the bass, treble, and master, respectively.

As far as distortion is concerned, users need not stew as the R2000DB is integrated with the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Dynamic Range Control (DRC) features. With DSP, the levels of digital signals are greatly refined and regulated, thus improving the accuracy and reliability of digital communications. With DRC on the other hand, the volume of loud sounds are reduced whereas the volume of sounds are amplified.

Verdict:

The Speakers That Don’t Deserve to Be Locked in a Shelf

A speaker system that exudes a simple look yet has more to offer from the inside is how exactly the case for the Edifier R2000DB. Its potential to minimize distortion thus allows for a smooth listening experience across any errands entailed. I’d have to say too that this bookshelf speaker system would be a great complement to PCs, gaming consoles, and mini home theater as it is able to provide no less than utmost audio quality.
