Transcend® Information, Inc. (Transcend®), a leading manufacturer of storage and multimedia products, is pleased to announce that their dashcams and body cams are helping the Davao City Central 911, a fully integrated emergency and rescue dispatch system in the Crown Jewel of Mindanao, greatly improve their disaster management services through detailed recordings.
Just last December, the Central 911 partnered with Transcend®, wherein the latter supplied the former with the DrivePro 220 dashboard cameras into ambulances and other emergency vehicles. Features such as speed limit alerts, lane departure warning, and GPS significantly allow the Central 911 to monitor their response team and rescue vehicles by accessing log files through Wi-Fi connectivity. It also allows the Central 911 to easily audit response times and other procedures on a daily basis.
“We still haven’t felt the changes, but we certainly feel safer knowing that we have relevant data that we can pull out if there are incidents that our vehicles may experience,” said Emmanuel R. Jaldon, Davao City Central 911’s Chief Operating Officer.
The Transcend® DrivePro 220 dashcam features an emergency recording with an f/1.8 lens and a snapshot, and can be viewed through a bright 2.4” colored LCD screen. Among its features is the Forward Collision Warning System that informs drivers if there is a high-risk collision on the road.
The DrivePro 220 also features a GPS receiver that logs driving details such as the date and time of the recorded footage and its exact location to allow further assistance from other response teams should it be necessary. Moreover, the DrivePro 220 has what Transcend® calls as the Lane Departure Warning System, which alerts drivers if there are other vehicles on either side of the lane. This is to prevent drivers from making abrupt lane switching while responding to an emergency destination.
Most importantly, the DrivePro 220 has the DrivePro Toolbox, a software feature that can monitor multiple devices at the same time from the Central 911 headquarters. Response time from dispatch to reaching destination and the routers taken are also recorded.
Aside from the DrivePro 220, the Central 911 personnel are also equipped with the Transcend® DrivePro Body 20. It’s a camera attached on the body that documents incidents while police officers arrest culprits or confront unfavorable situations.
The DrivePro Body 20 features a 1080p recording with live-streaming to iOS and Android™ devices with its built-in Wi-Fi function. It’s shockproof and water-resistant, which can withstand tough weather conditions. The DrivePro Body 20 app for iOS and Android™ prevents tampering of evidence by automatically embedding recording and snapshot with a user ID and timestamp.
Similar to the DrivePro 220, the DrivePro Body 20 also has the Toolbox software. A multifunctional docking station is positioned at the Central 911 headquarters, wherein up to six DrivePro Body 20 cameras can be docked for charging and uploading purposes. Recordings will be sent to the main computer where they will be stored and archived. The dock also features an auto-backup function. In the instance the primary footage is lost due to unforeseen circumstances, the Central 911 headquarters will always retain duplicate copies of the videos.
