With Call of Duty’s remastered version released, we should look back at some of Call of Duty:Modern Warfare storyline’s memorable two-word quotes.
1. “Crew expendable.”
In the player’s first deployment as an SAS operative, they attack a ship carrying nuclear material. When Captain Price, the lead captain, is asked about how to engage the unarmed mariners, he says straightforwardly: “Crew expendable.”
2. “Smell that?”
Later, the SAS task force must rescue their ally Nikolai deep in Russian territory with the help of rebels. When the SAS team reaches a dark swamp, Price asks, “Smell that?”, and Gaz, another operative, answers, “Yeah. Kamarov.” Kamarov, the rebel representative, walks out from outside of a bush.
3. “Missed me?”
The player’s team gets pinned down in a building by ever-advancing enemy troops. When all hope seems lost, the attack helicopter “Deadly” comes to flank the opponents, allowing the player’s team to advance. The pilot, Captain Pelayo, radios in:: “Outlaw, this is Deadly, refueled and fully loaded. You guys! Missed me?”
4. “Oy, Suzy!”
In a mission based on a flashback to the Cold War, Captain Price, then under the command of Lieutenant Macmillan as “Leftenant” Price, goes on a daring mission to assassinate Imran Zakhaev behind enemy lines. Macmillan says, “Oy, Suzy!” when apparently trying to be comical in stealth combat.
5. “Cheeky b**tard.”
In the final assault against Zakhaev’s nuclear missile silo base, Gaz disables the door locks to one of the rooms, but the door was automatic and opened very slowly. Price asks Gaz if there was a way to make it open faster, to which Gaz replies sarcastically. Price replies, “Cheeky b**tard.”
6. “Game Over”
Though not exactly a quote, this is the name of the last mission in the game. This mission chronicles the victory of the combined forces of the US Marines and the SAS against the Russian nuclear threat.
Whenever you play, always watch out for memorable quotes!
Keep them in your head, heart, and pocket, and when you need to get uplifted, simply remember how much you enjoyed the time you played a little Call of Duty.
