Released during Q2 of this year, Apacer’s Panther Rage Illumination Gaming Memory Module DDR4 took the gaming memory by storm. The Taiwanese multinational corporation pulled off one of its beautifully crafted DDR4 by creating a black-and-glass themed memory with a panther logo carved on the middle and a jagged curvature on top of it. A spiritual successor to last year’s Apacer’s Panther, the Panther Rage is an upscale of the earlier model.

The interesting thing about Apacer’s Panther Rage is its ability to showcase a relentless look, giving me a feeling that it can also provide a relentless performance. Just by looking at its glass accent, I certainly know what’s up and surely won’t know what’s down.

We have tested the Panther Rage DDR4 via the PassMark software, and astoundingly, this is what the beastly gaming memory accumulated:

Having a 2859 Memory Mark is such a serious consideration. It’s so serious that it could make you laugh knowing that this gaming memory is just 8GB [although this model is available in 4GB and 16GB]. The Panther Rage has clocking rate options ranging from 2400-3000MHz, which competes with the other gaming memory giants in the market. Although having latencies of 16-16-16-36 in 2400/2666MHz, 17-17-17-36 in 2800MHz and 16-18-18-38 in 3000MHz does not give much of a difference in terms of providing an ultra-smooth gaming, it is still a huge plus in case that it handles more demanding tasks such as photoshopping, video editing, etc.

In real-time, the Panther Rage was able to run each and every application that we had simultaneously opened in a very optimized manner, leaving a lag-free environment on the PC at all times it was employed.

Compared to the other baselines shown above, the Panther Rage intriguingly goes second amongst the top-caliber gaming memory brands such as the likes of G.Skill, Corsair, and Kingston.

Taiwan’s Apacer has surely shown its prowess of providing good memory modules throughout the years but they are yet to be fully recognized in the international stage.

Verdict:

Apacer’s Panther Rage Illumination DDR4 amazingly performed to the level of our expectation due to its unbelievably smooth sailing response from playing the highly-demanded The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to multitasking countless applications such as browsing with numerous tabs opened while vainly fooling with Adobe Photoshop without any signs of slowing down or overheating. The Panther Rage is a very reliable gaming memory that can handle any demanding games without compromising its durability. As what I’ve said earlier, its relentless look avoids the category of just-another-aesthetic-driven-gaming-component.

I believe that Apacer, in this speaking term, did not disappoint consumers onto upgrading the Panther model just for revenue purposes. They delivered with great concern on what the gamers’ want and they perfected it through this gaming memory
