“One of the biggest gaming events in Southeast Asia!” It surely is, as it has always been.

The E-Sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) 2017 is bound to grace the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on October 27-29 (Friday-Sunday) for a no-holds barred gaming extravaganza and introduction of new local and international titles.

A ton of gaming companies, publishers, and developers will run the annual event to exciting days of gaming by displaying their proudest creations. These major exhibitors will include extremely popular brands in the gaming community such as MSI, ViewSonic, AOC, Predator, Thermaltake, and HyperX, together with the leading gaming developers such as SONY Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft, Moonton, Hi-Rez Studios, Secret 6, and Reality Squared Games. Zotac, Capcom, PowerColor, GameTayo, Mineski Infinity, Indigo Entertainment, Ranida Games, Ludus, Redragon, Elite Global Sourcing, Forest Interactive, IGDA Manila and VR+ will join the ensemble gaming cast.

The event is in partnership with the Gamers Union for Innovation and Leadership Development (GUILD) of the De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde and the Association for Computing Machinery of the University of the Philippines Diliman Student Chapter.

Of course, this year’s E-Sports and Gaming Summit will refuse to let the gaming crowd down as it will showcase riveting segments such as BrawlFest, IndieArena, and Cosplay Competition, which will be the lifeline of the entire event.

Brawlfest

With the reintroduction of Brawlfest, the segment will feature an all-out competition of fighting games organized by Pinoy Playstation, Secret Base, and PlayBook E-Sports. The fighting games are BlazBlue: Central Fiction, The King of Fighter XIV, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax IGNITION, Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator 2, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and Tekken 7.

Expect nothing but chaotic chants and woes from the crowd during the competition.

IndieArena

Sure, mainstream publishers and developers are the only ones who will steal the show, won’t they? Of course not as every gaming geek knows how to deviate their attention to something out of the ordinary from time to time.

Independent publishers and developers will be the stars in this booth as they will have the opportunity to flaunt their most-coveted works in one of the biggest gaming events in Southeast Asia.

A free taste for everybody! Don’t forget to leave your suggestions in their suggestion box.

Cosplay Competition

It isn’t called a gaming festival if it does not have people geared up with their best costumes and impersonations.

In this year’s ESGS 2017, a cosplay competition arranged by Anime Alliance Philippines will be giving out P20,000 in cash for the best persona. The competition will come in two phases — short skit and final stage.

Witness or be witnessed for the ultimate cosplay competition in Southeast Asia!
