Gamers are clamoring for freebies. The microtransaction scheme of today’s games got the market on their toes, keeping everyone busy playing and trading. We have all sorts of genres, from FPS to RTS to MOBA joining in on the microtransaction idea, and we don’t see it failing anytime soon.

Rainbow Six Siege comes with a cheap Starter Edition, a free High-Definition DLC, and a way to have microtransactions for new “operators,” or characters. It’s like DotA or LoL, except in an FPS game. One can choose between all sorts of characters in the game, with different cool abilities and equipment. It’s a great idea for players, both old and new.

In Year 3 of Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft went on to be more generous. From the original 2 starting operators, if one bought the Starter Edition past the Year 3 series, there will be 10 operators instead of 2. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Nonetheless, the game will still have the staple free “Recruit” operator, which is just the simple basic, unnamed character than anyone can use.
