Security vulnerabilities are everywhere, but lately, a new pair is on the loose.

Intel® just received massive updates late February 2018 to early March for all processors that are currently in circulation.

The Meltdown and Spectre exploits are dangerous. Leveraging them allows an attacker to read passing information (executed) in real time, thus making the attack more urgent to tackle than something that can be easily forensically read through after the attack.

Possible information that may be disclosed is passwords being written straight through the machine, SSL keys, cryptographic keys, or pretty much anything that is currently being used by the user. What makes them extra dangerous is that they are inside the hardware, and not on the software. This makes them harder to point out in the first place, if they are being exploited at all.

The Meltdown attack can also be done on mobile devices, not just on PC devices. Thus, Google is clamoring to provide updates on Android™ machines as soon as possible.

Those automatic updates will be your friend, in this case.
